"fear only fear itself", is a maxim that i regularly used to use, until the habit became ingrained.. it was truly liberating.

Wow! Well, do you want the long or short answer? After watching the movie "Luther" for 4th time. I don't think that anyone feared God more than he did. I guess I would say I read the verse this way

There is no fear in Christ, but perfect faith in Christ casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and the one fearing has not been perfected in faith in Christ.

I have the gift of faith in the work of Christ on the cross, (in that he was punished in my place). Now that one sees that, what is left to fear? I think this is what happenned to Martin Luther as well.

Unique Stupidity

as far as i'm aware, no other apocalytic group, in which i include seventh day adventists,born again christians, mormons etc cause as much controversys as the jw's.

i hadn't even realised that born again christians were apocalyptic until i was told by one that 'the end was coming' this week and the tsunami was an act of god to warn us.. so is it just shunning and harrassing people from door to door that makes the jws different?

or could it be their unique form of stupidity?

i was wondering if someone ever made up an invitation similar to what the witnesses hand out .

for the memorial , but with the opposite agenda , maybe with some thought provoking questions or scriptures .

like : why do you celebrate the memorial christ is already present since 1914 .

great tribulation or no great tribulation that is my question

so, what's the deal?

are witnesses now expecting a tribulation to precede armageddon or are they expecting armageddon without a tribulation?.

because in the last couple of years some of the things i am hearing and reading, lead me to believe they are phasing out the concept of a tribulation.

i recently watched the 9/11farenheit documentary and found it very interesting.how much is actually true and how much is not,i don't know,but i got the impression that micheal moore is for real and trying to open people's eyes to truths we don't see.. anyways,i was just sitting there,wondering what kind of documentary he'd come up with if he decided he wanted to look into the wts.i believe it would be very interesting,and definitely an eye-opener.of course the shallow-minded jw would say it's all propaganda no matter how clear the subject was presented.. i'd love to hear your thoughts on this ...any ideas for a title?

Is Jehovah the God of "Impartial Love"??

i think most would agree that real true love has to be impartial,,no favoritism,,completely fair,,equal concern,, reguardless of race,,nationality,,or even species.. yet when we read the bible what do we find?

we find god hating no only singled out persons, but entire nationalities.

he even tell his people to sacrifice innocent animals for sins,,i don't know about you but i see a big discrepancy here, if god is supposed to be impartial.

Why look to religion? Look to Christ!
